Hyderabad : Former PG student of Osmania University has undertaken the task of starting a Covid isolation center at Challagariga village in Chityal mandal in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district of Telangana as he observed various people in rural areas are discriminating and avoiding Covid positive families and also with lack awareness or money, people in the village who test positive for Covid can't afford nutritious food
28-year-old Dudapaka Naresh along with Nerella Arun, Gollapelly Srikanth has obtained permission from the officials and started using government school in village as isolation centre. The facility initially had three patients as on May 20 and it has so far served eleven patients. One among the active patients is a nine-year-old girl. Four patients completed isolation and one among them is 75 years old.
The facility provides free protein food, monitors health either with doctors in village or asha staff. The team established the centre from the funds they received from Professor Sujatha Surepally of Satavahana University, Karimnagar who carried out various campaigns to help rural people. All the PPE kits, sanitizers, medicines to the isolation centre in the village are arranged by her.
"In rural areas, the rise of untouchability due to Covid is more, if one member in the family gets tested positive, whole family is being avoided. As a citizen I believe in Right to Live and nobody can be deprived of their life.We must do our bit in helping them. I urge every educated youth to participate and contribute in saving at least one life," Naresh told Bizz Buzz.
